This paper examines the impact of export destination concentration on domestic capital investments among Chinese export firms. We find that firms invest less when destinations are more concentrated, especially when firms are financially constrained or operate in competitive industries with irreversible assets. Our results are confirmed by a natural experiment related to the 2004 European Union expansion. Firms with concentrated destinations are less responsive to investment opportunities and behave more cautiously. Our findings emphasize the importance of understanding the global supply chain when studying investment decisions.

報告人簡介：

張潇，現為南開大學金融學院副教授。2016年畢業于格拉斯哥大學亞當·斯密商學院，獲金融學博士學位。目前研究方向包括信息摩擦與企業決策、投資與企業現金持有、金融市場摩擦的資産定價影響。研究興趣主要集中在企業财務、資産定價和中國經濟等領域。研究成果在多個國際知名期刊上發表，其中包括Journal of Corporate Finance等。
